Comic-Con 2027 Brand Activation San Diego: Pop-Ups and Parties

The Biggest Week Downtown Needs the Earliest Start
A Comic-Con 2027 brand activation San Diego fans remember starts with the right space, and so does a private party or client dinner during show week. Per the San Diego Convention Center calendar, San Diego Comic-Con 2027 (Comic-Con International) is scheduled for July 22–25, 2027, with about 135,000 expected attendees. Confirm dates with the organizer before you build your plan around them.
That is far more people than a typical convention, and they spill straight into the Gaslamp Quarter and East Village. Brands, agencies, exhibitors and attendees' company groups all want the same storefronts, rooftops and private rooms within walking distance of the Convention Center. The good ones go early.
We find, secure and run your space. Send your concept, dates and expected traffic, and you'll have a proposal within 24 hours. There is no planning fee. The venues pay us, not you. You pay only event costs such as venue minimums, food and beverage, rentals, entertainment and any permit costs, itemized up front.

Comic-Con 2027 Brand Activation San Diego Formats
Show week supports several formats, and many brands run more than one:
- Pop-up environments. A branded space inside a restaurant, bar or event venue you control for one day or the full run. See our brand activations page for how we plan them.
- Street-level activations. Sampling or photo moments where foot traffic already flows, with permits handled when you use public space.
- Invite-only parties. A full restaurant buyout for fans, press, talent guests or partners.
- Street takeovers. For the largest footprint, a Gaslamp block party for 150 to 600+ guests, with street closures and city coordination.
Agencies use us as the local team on the ground. We know the venues, neighborhoods and street-level logistics, so your creative team can stay on the concept.

Gaslamp and East Village: Where Show Week Happens
The Gaslamp Quarter sits beside the Convention Center, and its historic streets, rooftops and dense run of restaurants and bars make it the natural home for evening launches and street-level work. East Village, just next door, offers more space and options when Gaslamp inventory runs thin.
We also own two private venues bookable only through us. Greystone has a supper-club feel for a hosted dinner or VIP party, and Kaluu is relaxed and character-rich, a good fit for a team night or after-party. See Greystone for details.
Outside the core, the wider Downtown area adds event spaces near the major hotels. Our San Diego Convention Center page explains how we plan around show hours.
Team Dinners, Client Nights and Company Groups
Not every show-week event is a pop-up. Studios, publishers, licensing teams and attendees' company groups also need somewhere to eat together. We book private rooms and buyouts for team dinners, client nights and partner receptions, walkable from the Convention Center. Our executive and client dinners page covers the format.
Timing matters more than usual this week. Start when your team confirms its plans; permits, buyouts and rooms near the Convention Center all reward an early request. If you're also exhibiting inside the show, check the organizer's exhibitor rules for any guidance on off-site promotion before you finalize.
Every event includes consultation, venue and vendor sourcing, rate negotiation, a timeline and budget, contract review, event-day coordination and follow-up.
We are an independent venue-sourcing service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Comic-Con International or San Diego Comic-Con; the name is used here only to describe the event dates.
Branded Events and Big Crowds, Handled
Large street events are routine for us. One Gaslamp block party we coordinated drew 600 guests, with permits, merchants, entertainment and food and beverage on one plan.
Branding runs through our indoor work too. For Marsh, we planned a cocktail reception and a group dinner near the Gaslamp timed to their convention dates, with signature cocktails inspired by the company, AV for slideshows and their logo displayed throughout. See the Marsh events, or read our summer corporate events guide for more ideas.
Show-Week Activation FAQs
When is Comic-Con 2027 in San Diego?
Per the San Diego Convention Center calendar, San Diego Comic-Con 2027 is scheduled for July 22–25, 2027, with about 135,000 expected attendees. Dates and schedules can change, so confirm them with the organizer before you commit to space. We plan around the dates you confirm, including setup and teardown days.
How early should we book an activation or party space?
As early as you can. Storefronts, rooftops, buyouts and private rooms near the Convention Center are in heavy demand during show week, and any activation on public space needs a permit before it can run. Start when your concept and budget are roughed out; we'll refine the details from there.
Do you handle permits for street-level activations?
Yes. When an activation uses streets or sidewalks, we handle the permit applications, closure plans and coordination with city services and neighboring businesses. Permit and city costs appear in your proposal. Indoor activations inside a venue you've booked usually don't need street permits.
What does a show-week activation cost?
It depends on footprint, length, venue minimums, food and beverage, rentals, entertainment, staffing and any permit costs. Your proposal itemizes every event cost before you commit. Our planning is free because the venues pay us, and we negotiate on your behalf.
Can you plan a team or client dinner during the show too?
Yes. We book private rooms and full buyouts for groups from 10 to 500+ in the Gaslamp, East Village and Downtown. Many brands pair a public activation with a smaller invite-only dinner, and we can source both in one proposal.
Are you an official Comic-Con partner?
No. We are an independent venue-sourcing service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Comic-Con International or San Diego Comic-Con. We help brands, agencies and company groups plan their own independent events in San Diego during show week, from pop-ups to private dinners.
