Event planner and client reviewing an event proposal, budget and menu samples together

Summer Show Week, Limited Rooms

Hosting a DIA 2027 San Diego dinner for partners, sponsors' guests or your own medical-affairs and regulatory team? Per the San Diego Convention Center calendar, the DIA Global Annual Meeting 2027 is scheduled for June 28 to July 1, 2027, with about 7,500 expected attendees. Confirm dates and the program with the organizer.

Late June is peak season Downtown. Summer visitors, hotel groups and show attendees all compete for the same private rooms in the Gaslamp, and the spaces closest to the Convention Center book first. Pharma companies, CROs, technology vendors and the agencies that support them tend to want the same few nights.

We source the room for you. Send your headcount, night and budget, and you'll have real options within 24 hours. There is no planning fee. The venues pay us, not you, and you pay only event costs such as food, beverage and any venue minimum, itemized in your proposal.

Planning a DIA 2027 San Diego Dinner or Reception

Drug-development meetings bring together sponsors, service providers, regulators and consultants, which means a lot of small, high-value conversations. Typical show-week events we plan:

  • Partner and client dinners. A private room where your team can talk business away from the exhibit hall. See our executive and client dinners page.
  • Receptions. A cocktail hour or full buyout for customers and partners after sessions end.
  • Working dinners. Enclosed rooms with AV and microphones for a short briefing over dinner.
  • Team dinners. A night out for colleagues who traveled in from several offices.

Our biotech and pharma group dinners page explains how we handle logo menus, fixed menus with drink limits, and menus with fish, vegetarian and steak options so every guest is covered.

Where to Host Near the Convention Center

The Gaslamp Quarter borders the Convention Center, so guests can walk from the last session to dinner. Steakhouses, historic dining rooms and rooftop spaces are all within a few blocks.

For something quieter, Little Italy offers Italian kitchens and enclosed private rooms a short ride north, and the Embarcadero waterfront suits groups staying at the bayfront hotels.

We also own two private venues bookable only through us. Greystone has a supper-club feel for a hosted dinner, and Kaluu is more relaxed for a reception. See Greystone for details, and our San Diego Convention Center page for how we time dinners around session schedules.

Why Booking Early Matters in Late June

Summer is San Diego's busy season, and a 7,500-attendee meeting adds to it. The meeting also runs right up to the Fourth of July weekend, which can push hosts toward the earlier nights of the week and concentrate demand.

Start when your team confirms who is attending. Early requests get the most choice of rooms and nights; late requests still get options, with proposals back in 24 hours. If your company has rules on per-person spend, alcohol or venue type, share them up front and we'll source only what fits.

Every event includes venue and vendor sourcing, rate negotiation, contract review, a timeline and budget, and event-day coordination. Dietary requirements are collected in advance and built into the catering brief.

We are an independent venue-sourcing service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by DIA (Drug Information Association) or its Global Annual Meeting.

Life-Science and Convention Dinners We've Planned

For AstraZeneca Brazil, we found an enclosed private room in Little Italy for a 25-guest dinner and presentation, with AV, microphones, flexible table setups and a menu with fish, vegetarian and steak options.

For Phibro, we booked a business-professional Gaslamp restaurant for a 40-guest client dinner after a day at the Convention Center, with a single-table setup, a budget-friendly group menu with a drink limit and custom logo menus. More in our executive client dinners guide.

DIA 2027 Dinner FAQs

When is DIA 2027 in San Diego?

Per the San Diego Convention Center calendar, the DIA Global Annual Meeting 2027 is scheduled for June 28 to July 1, 2027, with about 7,500 expected attendees. Confirm dates, session times and exhibit hours with the organizer before choosing your dinner night. We plan around the schedule you confirm.

How early should we book a dinner during the meeting?

Start as soon as your team knows who is attending. Late June is already busy Downtown, and the meeting adds thousands of guests competing for private rooms near the Convention Center. Early requests get the widest choice. Short on time? We still turn proposals around within 24 hours.

Can you provide a private room with AV for a presentation?

Yes. We regularly book enclosed private rooms with screens, microphones and flexible table setups for a short presentation over dinner. Tell us what you plan to show and how many speakers you have, and we'll confirm the AV with the venue in advance.

What does a dinner during the meeting cost?

It depends on headcount, venue, menu, bar plan and any room minimum. Your proposal lists every event cost before you commit. Our planning is free because the venues pay us, and because we negotiate, groups often get better pricing than booking direct.

Can you work within our company's rules on meals?

Yes. Share your per-person limits, alcohol policy, venue restrictions and approval steps, and we'll source only options that fit. We can set fixed menus and drink limits and itemize every cost for your records. Your compliance team keeps the final say.

Are you affiliated with DIA?

No. We are an independent venue-sourcing service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by DIA or its Global Annual Meeting. We help exhibitors, sponsors, agencies and attendee groups book their own private dinners and receptions during the meeting, planned around your schedule.
