SLAS 2027 San Diego Client Dinner and Reception Planning

Your Customers Are in Town. Book the Room Early.
An SLAS 2027 San Diego client dinner is often where the real conversation happens: away from the booth, at a table with the lab directors and buyers you flew in to see. Per the San Diego Convention Center calendar, the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening 2027 Annual is scheduled for January 30 to February 3, 2027, with about 7,500 expected attendees. Confirm dates and exhibit hours with the organizer.
Every instrument maker, software vendor and service provider on the floor wants the same thing that week: a private room near the Convention Center on one of a few good nights. The Gaslamp and Downtown rooms closest to the show go first.
We find yours. Send your headcount, night and budget, and you'll have a proposal within 24 hours. There is no planning fee. The venues pay us, not you, and you pay only event costs such as food, beverage and any venue minimum, all itemized up front.

Booking an SLAS 2027 San Diego Client Dinner
The format depends on what you want the evening to do:
- Key-account dinner. A quiet private room for a handful of decision-makers and your leadership. Our executive and client dinners page covers how we set these up.
- Customer reception. A cocktail hour or standing reception after the exhibit hall closes, open to a broader invite list.
- Hosted group dinner. A semi-private space or full buyout for a user group, distributor meeting or partner program.
- Booth team dinner. A thank-you night for the people who worked the floor.
We plan regularly for life-science companies. Our biotech and pharma group dinners page explains logo menus, AV for short remarks or a product demo video, and fixed menus with drink limits that keep spend predictable.

Walkable Venues Near the Convention Center
The Gaslamp Quarter starts right across from the Convention Center, which makes it the default for show-week dinners. Steakhouses, historic dining rooms and rooftop spaces sit within a few blocks. When it books up, East Village offers more options a short walk away.
We also own two private venues bookable only through us: Greystone, with a supper-club feel built for hosted dinners, and Kaluu, a more relaxed space for a reception or team night.
Hosting customers at your own site before or after the show? If your team is based up the coast, we also plan in UTC and Sorrento Valley. Our San Diego Convention Center page shows how we time dinners around show hours.
Why Show-Week Rooms Go Early
Citywide shows put thousands of extra diners Downtown on the same nights, and the private rooms closest to the Convention Center are limited. The San Diego Convention Center calendar also lists other events around the same dates, which adds to demand for those rooms. Check the calendar and confirm with each organizer.
The practical advice: start when your team confirms who is traveling, not when the show is a week away. Early requests get the widest choice. Later requests still get options, and our 24-hour turnaround helps when time is short.
Every event includes venue and vendor sourcing, rate negotiation, contract review, a timeline and budget, and event-day coordination. Dietary requirements are collected in advance and built into the catering brief.
We are an independent venue-sourcing service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening or its annual conference.
Client Dinners Timed to the Show
For Phibro, we found a business-professional Gaslamp restaurant for a 40-guest client dinner after a day at the Convention Center, with a single-table setup, a budget-friendly group menu with a drink limit and custom logo menus.
For Marsh, we booked a restaurant near the Gaslamp to align with their convention dates and ran two events there: a cocktail reception and a group dinner, with signature cocktails, AV for slideshows and the company logo throughout. Read our executive client dinners guide for planning tips.
SLAS 2027 Client Dinner FAQs
When is SLAS 2027 in San Diego?
Per the San Diego Convention Center calendar, the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening 2027 Annual is scheduled for January 30 to February 3, 2027, with about 7,500 expected attendees. Confirm dates, exhibit hours and any company events with the organizer before you choose your dinner night.
How far ahead should we book a client dinner for the show?
Start as soon as you know who's attending. Private rooms walkable from the Convention Center are limited and fill during citywide shows. Early requests get the most choice; short timelines still get options, since we send proposals within 24 hours.
What does a client dinner during the show cost?
It depends on headcount, venue, menu, bar plan and any room minimum. Your proposal itemizes every event cost before you commit. Our planning is free because the venues pay us, and we negotiate on your behalf, so groups often pay less than booking direct.
Can we host a reception and a dinner on different nights?
Yes. Many exhibitors book a broader customer reception and a smaller key-account dinner in the same week, sometimes at the same venue. We can source both in one proposal, keep the details consistent and give you one contact for each night.
Are you connected to SLAS?
No. We are an independent venue-sourcing service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening. We help exhibitors, sponsors and attendee groups book their own private dinners and receptions during the show, and we plan around the schedule you confirm.
